The MODIP portal has been developed to fulfil the accessibility compliance for Web Content 1.0 with Double A level to make content more accessible to people with disabilities. The various features of the portal that address this are:

 

Variable Text Size

Relative text size units have been used so that the content is displayed correctly in any resolution. The user can also vary the size of the text by clicking on the Text resizer icon.

The user can find an index of pages in the website through the site map.

The user can always know in which section/subsection they are thanks to the breadcrumbs browsing path found between the horizontal and vertical menu bars.

Keyboard Shortcuts

These help browsing and access to the MODIP protal's contents using direct access keys. In order to be able to use these keys and depending on the internet browser, there are the following key combinations:

Note: The modifier is browser and OS dependant. i.e. Alt in Internet Explorer (Windows), Alt + Shift  in Firefox (Windows), Ctrl  in Firefox (Mac).

Jump to contents

Users who have text-only browsers or voice browsers (screen readers) can jump directly to the browsing menu and the content of each page through the browsing path links available at the top of each page or by using shortcut keys such as Alt + 1.

 
In addition to the above, the MODIP protal has been validated to conform with the current version of the HTML 5 standard.
